Magazine Cover

For our first Computer Graphics project, we had to design our own magazine cover using Adobe Photoshop. We could either create our own magazine, or re-create an existing one. I chose to re-create a Rolling Stone magazine featuring Third Eye Blind's lead singer, Stephan Jenkins.

Time & Place

For the Time & Place project, I chose the timeless photograph of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I love this picture because it is a classic. In order for this project to be a success, we had to dress the part and try our best to match the background, as well as the lighting. The hardest thing about the project was putting in natural highlights on my face. I eventually ended up just using the dodge and burn tools..

Dreamscape

For the Dreamscape project, I chose a picture of a MacBook Pro for my background, off the macdesktops.com website. I chose this photo because I love my computer, and the slogan is so true. I chose to incorporate a bunch of sweets because I have a BIG sweet tooth. I wanted the project to be light-hearted and fun, with a lot of color. I chose to put the Candy Land picture as the background on the computer because it was my favorite childhood game.

Mayfair Poster Contest 2009

This was the design I came up with for the Mayfair poster contest. Each poster needed to incorporate some different elements of the annual Festival of the Arts. Previously in the semester, I had drawn a bad ass Mexican sugar skull in Drawing I. I scanned the skull in and placed it atop of a harp spewing music notes to symbolize the artistic and musical works found at Mayfair.

Easton Area Chamber of Commerce Logo

This was the design our group came up with for the new Easton Area Chamber of Commerce logo. We chose to incorporate Easton's colonial flag: a circle of 12 stars with one in the middle, each star representing one of the original 13 colonies. We then added four red rules around the stars to make the design symbolic of the Easton circle.

Type Portraits

For this project, we needed to create three different typography portraits: one shape, one line, and one value. The shape portrait is done completely in characters found on the computer keyboard. The line portrait was created using the 'Type on Path' tool in Adobe Illustrator. The value portrait, a photograph of Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind, was completed using different patterns and blocks of text in different fonts.

Architectural Illustration

For our final Computer Graphics project, I chose the Qila Deoband Mosque in Saharanpur, India. The city of Deoband is located in the district of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh (about 150 km North of Delhi). This city was established in 1866 and is jam packed with beautiful mosques. Mosques are used as Islamic houses of prayer and centers for Islamic learning. I chose to do this structure because it has very unique colors, and I thought it would be fun to make the minarets, as well as the arches.
